"The Annual Catholic Appeal is an Archdiocesan campaign that gives everyone an opportunity to support over 60 ministries and services throughout Western Washington..." Please read more about the ministries that benefit from this campaign at the Seattle Archdiocese website. The ACA allows us to gather our resources for a greater impact and to spread our contribution over the duration of the campaign.
Non-perishable food items are needed for our St. Vincent de Paul volunteers to help needy individuals and families in our parish area. They are constantly being asked to help folks who are stranded, unable to pay basic bills, or are just hungry. Food hampers are in the vestibules. Donation envelopes are in the pews and can be dropped in the Sunday collection basket. Make sure checks are made to St. Vincent de Paul and placed in an envelope.
Our parish also supports Lazarus Day Center in downtown Seattle. The center offers daytime services for the homeless including restrooms, showers and laundry services. Lunch is served and volunteers from our parish make sandwiches to be delivered to the center on First Friday every month. If you are unable to bring sandwiches before the morning Mass, there are other opportunities to help. See the Catholic Community Services Lazarus Day Center page for a wish-list of items regularly needed. If you are making sandwiches for Lazarus Day Center, please bring them to the Social Hall on Friday, May 4th, before the 9 am Mass.
