News & Bulletin

Easter Sunday was on March 23rd this year. The liturgical season of Easter continues until Pentecost Sunday on May 11th, 2008.

Photo of tulips on parish groundsMany parishioners have been gardening around the parish grounds this year. We don't always know exactly who may be working in the garden areas, but we enjoy your handiwork. Thanks go to those who casually bent over and tweaked a weed, and to those who came with shovels, rakes and pruners!

Thanks also go to all who donated baby items for the Youth Ministry's collection event for Angelorum Pregnancy Center in Shoreline. We're proud of our pro-life teens!

As summer vacation approaches, those who have been faithfully keeping their commitments to Perpetual Adoration will need vacation breaks just like everyone else. If you would like to substitute for an hour a week for a couple weeks this summer, please call the parish office at (425) 775-7545 and ask to be placed on the substitute list. You may specify what days and hours are easiest for you to fill in. We're only asking for an hour of your time a week, for maybe 1, 2 or 3 weeks.

The 7th Annual "Tradition at the Links" Golf Scramble will be held at Glen Eagle Golf Club in Arlington on May 17th. All are welcome, no experience necessary! Dinner only tickets may be purchased as well. Please call the parish office and we will give you the contact information to sign up or purchase a hole sponsorship for your business or family. Proceeds benefit St. Pius X School.

Fantasy Fest, a major annual school event, is on the weekend of May 30,31 & June 1st this year. There will be rides, game arcades, entertainment, food & fun for everyone! Raffle tickets are available at the school office.

The Ladies Guild White Elephant Sale is held during Fantasy Fest. If you would like to donate clean, usable items please contact the parish office. No heavy furniture or electronics will be accepted - it's too hard for the ladies to move them, and too difficult to dispose of if they don't sell. Items that sell well are games, home decor, dishes, sporting goods, toys, linens, small (working) electric appliances, etc.

The Devotion for the month of May: The Blessed Virgin Mary.
The Holy Father's Intentions for May:
General: That Christians may use literature, art and the media to greater advantage to favour a culture which defends and promotes the values of the human person.
Mission: That just as she accompanied the Apostles in the early stages of the Church, may the Blessed Virgin Mary, Star of Evangelization and Queen of Apostles, continue to guide missionaries throughout the world with maternal affection.
