SCI-MA-TECH  We are gearing up for SCI-MA-TECH night on Thursday, May 8 from 7:00-8:00 PM. The students will have the opportunity to show you all of the exciting science, math and technology things they are learning in the classroom. We will meet in the gym at 7:00 PM for instructions. Following a brief introduction, you and your child can visit classrooms. Mrs. Kindell has arranged to have the egg drop contest this year. Buck Preuninger has arranged to have the local fire department truck available (unless there is a fire!) for the egg drop. Enclosed are the instructions for the egg drop.      

 

Thank You  Thank you to Jeanne Johnson and several parent volunteers who tested all of our students in grades K-8 for vision and the 5-8 grade students for scoliosis.

 

Also, thank you to the Knights of Columbus for purchasing a new statue of the Blessed Mother.  She is a welcomed addition to our courtyard.

 

Volunteer Hours  Just a reminder that sign-up sheets for working at the Fantasy Fest are in the school office. Because this is a big event, each family is responsible for twelve hours during Fantasy Fest weekend. 

 

Archbishop Murphy Art Show  Shady and Sara Iskander and Thomas Ghebreyesus entered the Art Show in April and received an Award of Distinction. Thomas was awarded a gift certificate for Starbucks.  Congratulations!!

 

Parent Club Nominations  We are electing Parent Club Officers and a Room Parent Coordinator for the 2008-09 school year. We give special thanks to our current Parent Club Officers and Room Parent volunteer and all of their extra efforts for the students, parents and St. Pius X community.  If you are interested, please contact Ruth Foisy.  

 

School Commission Elections  Are you interested in joining the St. Pius X School Commission Board? Elections are around the corner for next year. The Board is an advisory group of school parents and parish members, supporting the Pastor and Principal. We meet on the fourth Monday evening each month (minus December, July and August). It is a great chance and opportunity to help create and continue the exciting growth and development of our school.
